Darkstone is a 100% hack & slash game, much like Diablo. It is undoubtedly the best Diablo-like I have ever played, over and above Diablo II. The gameplay is really great, with a humongous lifetime, and like Diablo, what will truly make you an addict is the serious difficulty, and your will to get past it, to overtake the great challenge wich is offered to you. The main difference with other Diablo-likes is the graphics. As you can see from the screenshots, they are more in a Walt Disney style than the morbid Diablo, but don't be fooled. Heads fly, blood spills, and the dungeons are not really ideal holiday destinations. The ergonomy of this game is absolutely perfect. Spells shortcut, hot keys for skills, for running, etc, you can do absolutely anything in a second once you've learned the interface. Another strong point of the game is its quest editor, wich means not only that you can create new maps, but also that many custom quests are already available, increasing the already significant lifetime of this game tenfold! You can also edit your characters skins. This game is now quite old, which means it is really cheap, so if you enjoy killing tons of monsters, gaining exp, managing your equipment, skills, and take on a seriously powerful final boss, then rush to the store, or to whichever auction site you use, and buy this game. You will not regret it.
